Allow Standard Notification Actions of Email, SMS and Frameworks Notifications.

The Feature code 'FeatureSNA' must be enabled to allow the Standard Notification Actions of Email, SMS and Frameworks Notifications. To utilise this feature please contact Sterland Computing

Frameworks allows you to create E-mail or SMS templates which can then be used to send messages to your Customers from any Sales Order. You can also create Notification templates to send a Frameworks Notification to a User.

Refer to the following processes for further information:


Setting up an E-mail or SMS or User Notification template

To set up an E-mail or SMS or User Notification template, perform the following:

1. If one has not been created, create a Sales Order template. Refer to the SalesOrderTemplate Event ID in Event Definition Maintenance for further information.

(info) Templates can be created on your behalf. Please contact Sterland Computing if you would like to discuss this. 

2. Add as many E-mail, SMS or User Notifications (via the Actions field) into the Sales Order template as required. Refer to the SalesOrderTemplate Event ID in Event Definition Maintenance for further information.  

3. Ensure the subscribed check box is ticked (beside the Event ID field) then tick the Subscribed check box beside all the actions you wish to include as possible messages that can be sent to Customers or Users via specific Sales Orders.

(info) Condition fields are not required for all message notifications. Leave this field blank. Customer Attributes are also not required for all message notifications.

4. Click when complete.


Sending an E-mail to a Customer from a specific Sales Order

To send an E-mail to a Customer from a specific Sales Order, perform the following:

1. Create a new Sales Order or search for then select an existing Sales Order.

2. Ensure the relevant E-mail templates have been created. Refer to the SalesOrderTemplate Event ID in Event Definition Maintenance for further information.

3. Click  then choose Send Message.

4. Select Email via the drop down arrow in the Template Type field.

5. Select the template to use via the drop down arrow in the Template To Use field.

(tick) The templates to use are based on the template type.

6. The message contains the values defined when the template was created and outputs the Cc, Bcc, Subject and Body information into the message. The Customer's E-mail address (from the E-Address field in Customer Maintenance) wil be used to send the E-mail to (via the To field) & cannot be modified.

(info) Tick Show Body as HTML to view how the text will be sent to the customer.

7. Add any additional information to the E-mail message, then click .

(info)  The ability to add attachments will be available in a future release of Frameworks.


Sending a Frameworks Notification to a User from a specific Sales Order

To send a Frameworks Notification to a User from a specific Sales Order, perform the following:

1. Create a new Sales Order or search for then select an existing Sales Order.

2. Ensure the relevant Frameworks User Notification templates have been created. Refer to the SalesOrderTemplate Event ID in Event Definition Maintenance for further information.

3. Click  then choose Send Message.

4. Select Notification via the drop down arrow in the Template Type field.

5. Select the template to use via the drop down arrow in the Template To Use field.

(tick) The templates to use are based on the template type.

6. Type the User ID to send the notification to in the User field or search for it via . If left blank, an error message will be displayed requiring the user to enter a valid User ID.

(info) You can send notifications to multiple User IDs by separating each User ID with a comma.

7. The message contains the values defined when the template was created and outputs the Subject and Body information into the message.

8. Add any additional information to the Notification message, then click .


Sending an SMS to a Customer from a specific Sales Order

To send an SMS to a Customer from a specific Sales Order, perform the following:

1. Create a new Sales Order or search for then select an existing Sales Order.

2. Ensure the relevant SMS templates have been created. Refer to the SalesOrderTemplate Event ID in Event Definition Maintenance for further information.

3. Click  then choose Send Message.

4. Select SMS via the drop down arrow in the Template Type field.

5. Select the template to use via the drop down arrow in the Template To Use field.

(tick) The templates to use are based on the template type.

6. The message contains the values defined when the template was created and outputs the Body information into the message. The Customer's mobile phone number (from the Phone (M) field in Customer Maintenance) is automatically populated & cannot be modified.

7. Add any additional information to the SMS message, then click .
